Press Release

(Scotts Valley, CA - April 11, 2019) Blackburn Design, the cycling industry leader in bike accessories, today announced the launch of their new Outpost Bike & Camp™light. It is a powerful bike light that affixes to the handlebar as well as a camp light that can be worn on your forehead via a retractable drawstring. The Outpost Bike & Camp™Light is available for dealer pre-order starting today and to riders via authorized Blackburn Design retailers and www.blackburndesign.com starting in July.

“We designed this light to be a versatile companion for everything from early morning starts on a bikepacking adventure to those post work, golden-hour rides where you know you’ll be out a bit after dark,” says Blackburn’s Marketing Manager, Dan Powell. “Whether it’s changing a flat in the dark or pulling the right layer out of your pannier, it’s awesome to have a single tool that’s super accessible and easy to use.”

The Outpost Bike & Camp™ light meets IP-65 standards for wet weather performance as well as ANSI FL-1 standards for output and run time. It is rechargeable via micro-USB and features riding, camp and lantern modes that provide just the right amount of brightness to the task at hand. Using the retractable drawstring, riders can also wear the light on their forehead, wrist or wrap it around a tent pole or seat post. Additionally, a silicone “lampshade” sits over the light source that allows you to bring the light down to a soft ambient glow.
